Sculpt:
Former protocol droid-turned-bounty hunter 4-LOM, partnered with Zuckuss, as seen in THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. A programming glitch turns the droid into a thief, which attracted the attention of Jabba the Hutt. The gangster equipped the droid with combat programming and had his non-violence programming overridden, turning him into a bounty hunter. It was also Jabba's idea to team the droid with the intuitive Gand hunter Zuckuss. With 4-LOM's cold logic and Zuckuss' remarkable instincts, they made a formidable pair. In coming up with a name for the droid bounty hunter, it was decided to use an acronym for the phrase "For love of money." This sculpt is all-new, and is the best version of the character Hasbro's produced so far: 9 out of 10.

Paint:
4-LOM is molded in dark gray. His head is painted silver, with olive green paint apps to his eyes. His body has been given a rusty brown wash to similar rust and weathering. His lower torso, just below the waist, also has a silver paint app. There is an orange "swoosh" paint app on his left chest plate, recreating a marking seen on the original droid. His blaster rifle is molded in the same dark gray, and has a silver paint app to the barrel: 9/10.

Articulation:
4-LOM's neck, waist, shoulders, elbows, knees, and ankles are all ball-jointed. His wrists and hips have standard planer-cut joints. The shoulder sockets are swivel-cut, allowing a great range of motion. About as super-articulated as we're likely to ever see a droid: 9/10.

Accessories:
4-LOM comes with a long-barreled blaster rifle and character-specific collectible coin. Minimal, but that's all we see him with in the film, too, even though the POTF2 version tossed in a blaster pistol accessory: 8.5/10.

Packaging:
The new 30th Anniversary Collection card uses stylized "painted" imagery of the characters on the individual cards, with the new STAR WARS logo in stark white and cut in on an angle. It's a design that initially had collectors divided: you either loved the new look or hated it! The film each figure comes from is at the bottom right edge of the card, while the character's number in the collection is on the blister insert. 4-LOM is figure number 41, from THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. The cardback features an actual screen shot from TESB, and has text that explains the character's role in it and a "Character Profile": 8.5/10

Availability:
As of this writing, the figure has been appearing at retail for over a month, and is available from various online sources. It initially sold out quickly, but now seems to be not quite as hot: 8/10.

Conclusion:
Considering the last release of 4-LOM was in the POTF2 collection, he's been long overdue for a new sculpt! That 1997 version wasn't bad, and has been re-released a few times in repack collections, but this version was sorely needed after SA version of Bossk and IG-88 were released this year in the Vintage line: 8.7/10.
