Sculpt:
Clone troopers from Sarlaac Battalions A and B accompany Jedi Grand Master Yoda to the planet Kashyyyk to repel Separatist forces in REVENGE OF THE SITH. When Chancellor declares himself Emperor and denounces the Jedi as traitors, "Order 66" is initiated and the Jedi are killed. Commander Gree receives the order and has a Kashyyyk trooper assist him with liquidating Yoda. Both fall to the diminutive Jedi Master's lightsaber. This sculpt is all-new, and is the most accurate version of the character Hasbro's produced so far. There's one rather odd problem, though: the figure is noticeably shorter than other Clone Trooper figures. Since they are all clones, they should all be the same height. I'm deducting one point for this rather frustrating blunder: 8 out of 10.

Paint:
Kashyyyk Trooper's entire body is molded in a light mint green. His head has brown and olive green camo pattern decos, and the visor on the faceplate is painted a bright metallic green. The breath filter is painted black. Under the faceplate, his face is a medium brown, with white eyes and black pupils and eyelashes. (Oddly, his eyebrows are unpainted.) The undersuit surrounding his face is painted black, even though the rest of his undersuit is a dark gray. His arms have olive and brown camoflauge decos, with light gray apps to his gauntlets and gloves. His torso is mostly green, with camo decos and dark gray apps to all undersuit areas. His belt is green, with camo apps and gray supply pouches, as well as a silver deco to the buckle, with a black app at the buckle's center. His pelvis is green in the front with camo decos, and dark gray in the rear. His upper legs are dark gray, with light gray apps to the armor on his inner thighs. His lower legs are green with camo decos, and light gray straps on his boots. Large areas of his dark gray undersuit have brown camo splotches, although these can be hard to see at first. His blaster is molded in black, with no paint apps: 9/10.

Articulation:
Kashyyyk Trooper's neck, chest, shoulders, elbows, knees, and ankles are all ball-jointed. The wrists and hihps are planer-cut joints. About as super-articulated as we're likely to ever see on this character: 9/10.

Accessories:
Kashyyyk Trooper comes with a DC-15 blaster rifle, hinged faceplate, removable belt, and character-specific figure stand: 8.5/10.

Packaging:
The 30th Anniversary Collection card uses stylized "painted" imagery of the characters on the individual cards, with the STAR WARS logo in stark white and cut in on an angle. It's a design that initially had collectors divided: you either loved the new look or hated it! The film each figure comes from is at the bottom right edge of the card, while the character's number in the collection is on the blister insert. Kashyyyk Trooper is figure number 4 (2008 collection), from REVENGE OF THE SITH. The cardback features an actual screen shot from ROTS showing a Kashyyyk Trooper with Commander Gree, and has text that explains the character's role and a "Character Profile": 8.5/10

Availability:
As of this writing, the figure has been appearing at retail for just over two months, and is available from various online sources. It initially sold out instantly, but now seems to be sticking around a bit longer on the shelves: 8/10.

Conclusion:
Clone Trooper fanatics have been awaiting a more film-accurate version of the Kashyyyk Trooper since the repainted VTSC Biker Scout was released as the Elite Corps Clone Trooper in 2006's The Saga Collection, and they've finally been rewarded. Although not perfect, it's a welcome improvement over the previous "afterthought" release: 8.7/10.
