One of the highlights of REVENGE OF THE SITH will no doubt be the battle on the planet Kashyyyk, with Yoda leading thousands of Clone Troopers and Wookiees into battle. Here we have a Wookiee warrior, complete with blaster, armor, and helmet. There was some initial confusion as to whether or not this figure was basketball player Michael Kingma's character of "Tarfful," but as he scheduled for a later wave, this appears to be just a generic warrior. Anyway, he's utterly massive at 5-inches tall (5 1/4 with his helmet). The fur texturing is great, and he's quite a bit chunkier than ol' Chewbacca. The figure has braids on its face and the back of its head, and wears a sort of woven armor that includes a left shoulder pad and a metallic groin plate. This cool army-builder gets 9 out of 10.

Paint:
This warrior is molded in a medium brown plastic, with dark paint apps to his fur. The eyes are white with black outlining and pupils; the nose is black; the mouth interior is pink, with ivory-colored teeth. The fingers and toes are gray, with black nails (Hasbro cheaped-out and didn't paint the undersides of the toes nor the soles of the feet!). The shoulder pad and woven bands are gray, while the metal groin plate is silver. The helmet is molded in gold-colored plastic, with green and brown paint apps and a gray wash. The shin armor is molded in light gray, with no paint apps. The Kashyyykian rifle is molded in gold, with brown and gray paint apps. A very nice mixing of direct paint apps and washes: 9/10.

Articulation:
The Wookiee has ball-jointed shoulders, knees, and mid-torso, with planer cuts at the neck, elbows, wrists, and hips. As with most long-haired/beared characters, the neck articulation barely functions. The figure can hold the rifle either one-handed or in both hands, but you can't turn the head so he can sight his targets in two-handed mode: 8.5/10.

Accessories:
Our Wookiee has a removable Wookiee war helmet, a Kashyyykian blaster rifle, and removable shin armor: 8.5/10.

Packaging:
The same brand new REVENGE OF THE SITH card that will be used with the rest of the movie line. The card is almost triangular in shape, and is diecut on the sides and top. The figure insert image is now separate from the ROTS logo/figure name insert. The background is a field of molten lava behind the figure, with a stylized Darth Vader mask looming at the top, forming the J-hook. Noticably absent from the "Sneak Preview" cards are the silhouettes of Anakin and Obi-Wan dueling: the dueling figures do appear on the regular movie tie-in cards, however. On the inside of the outer clear blister are "Sneak Preview" stickers. The character insert is a promo shot of the helmeted warrior; the same image is used on the cardback. The character name insert declares him as "Preview: 3 of 4." The "Sneak Preview" cardbacks have images of the four figures in this wave, as well as the "Sneak Preview" Anakin's Jedi Starfighter. 8/10.

Availability:
As of this writing, the figure has just appeared at retail, and is packed pretty heavily per 12-figure case, as well as in the Wal-Mart 20-figure endcase display cases: 9/10.

Conclusion:
Wookiees! Who doesn't love these big lugs, huh? Plus, he's an army-builder, and it weighs a ton! I'd have been happier if he'd come with the figure stands we were promised, and if his head actually turned. Also, my sample's shin armor comes off if a truck goes by really fast or my cat sneezes in the same room: 8.7/10.
