Sculpt:
From the legendary Mos Eisley cantina sequence in STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE comes this alien creature that was one of the myriad bizarre denizens of that infamous watering hole. Concept artist Ron Cobb illustrated a number of alien designs during the development of the cantina sequence. In the margins of the illustrations were a number of biological notes, explaining the creature's native environment. A twin-horned scruffy-faced alien was described as being a "High Tundra" creature, and that became its default nickname on set. Make up artist Laine Liska crafted the High Tundra mask and hands. The alien was to have been given the proper name of Dratun. It wasn't until the Tales of the Mos Eisley Cantina anthology in the mid-90s that this alien was identified as corrupt tax collector Feltipern Trevagg. His alien species, the Gotal, was established in 1989's Galaxy Guide 4: Alien Races. Through EU stories, we learned that Trevagg was originally a bounty hunter who had tracked Obi-Wan Kenobi to Tatooine to collect the Empire's bounty on surviving Jedi, but he lost the wiley Jedi and was forced to remain on Tatooine. The sculpt is decent, although photos do seem to indicate that the head sculpt is a bit too squat and the face too broad. The body sculpt is very good, though, earning him an 8 out of 10.

Paint:
This figure is quite colorful, even if the paints are fairly muted. The head is molded in a beige color, then painted gray wherever skin shows. The fur is given a gray wash, too. The teeth are a sickly yellow, and the red eyes have large, black pupils. (The two reference photos on the packaging show that the character actually had yellow eyes, though.) The torso is molded in an off-white, with a brown color for the belt, with silver buckles. There is a bit of a creamy yellow at the neck, where a short tunic is worn under the outer one, and then beige paint on the neck to match the fur on the head and hands. His arms are molded in the medium bluish-gray of his shirt sleeves. His hands are molded in the same beige as his head, with gray applied to the fingers, a gray wash on the furred areas, and white for the claws. The pelvis and legs are molded in navy blue, with a medium brown for the boots, and gray with silver aging accents for the armor on the knees and boots. His blaster pistol is molded in black, with silver accents. The drinking glass is clear, with a transparent red color for the beverage. Overall, quite a few colors and paint apps on this figure: 9/10.

Articulation:
This cantina wave is really a mixed-bag of articulation. Feltipern Trevagg has a ball-jointed head, but the shaggy restricts movement quite a bit. Both arms have planer-cut joints at the shoulders, wrists, and left elbow, with an angled cut at the right elbow allowing you to pose that arm either bent or straight. The waist and hips are standard planer-cut joints, but the knees are ball-jointed. If the bottom part of his tunic didn't restrict the hip joints, those knee joints would be great for posing him seated on a bar stool! 7.5/10.

Accessories:
Trevagg comes with a blaster, a bar glass, and the standard gunmetal gray base/figure stand. We never actually saw him with either of these accessories in the film, but they're better than just the figure stand, I suppose! Plus, the blaster is pretty nice: 8/10.

Packaging:
The same 2005 Transitional card as the rest of the series, with a character-specific background image--in this case, a composited Mos Eisley cantina interior shot. The insert image is a nice close-up shot of the alien, and has the logo for STAR WARS: A NEW HOPE on the far left flange, then the figure's name and 2005 collection number (Feltipern Trevagg is '05 #6) on the right flange. The cardback is a screen shot of Trevagg seated at a table in the cantina, and has text that explains the character's background: 8.5/10.

Availability:
As of this writing, the figure has been appearing at retail for about a month and while sells out quickly; it is also available from most online sources: 7.5/10.

Conclusion:
While some might have preferred to see a set of all-new Cantina 3-packs at Kmart, I really prefer having these individually carded. Trevagg is a really good figure made from a fairly obscure background alien, and although diehard fans might still be screaming for Yarna del' Gargan (ROTJ) or the Ice Cream Maker Guy (TESB), I'll take more cantina aliens any time: 8.3/10.
