Sculpt:
An Ongree from the Skustell Cluster, Pablo-Jill was a non-human Jedi and was one of the heroic warriors sent to Geonosis to save Obi-Wan Kenobi from the Separatist forces. Pablo-Jill was one of two completely computer-generated alien Jedi featured in ATTACK OF THE CLONES (the other being Coleman Trebor). He is seen both in the Geonosis arena battle and the Jedi Temple. Hasbro's sculpt ably captures the CGI character's awkward form, with his multi-jointed legs, large hump on his back, and knobby, two-fingered/two-thumbed hands. The triangular head is also pretty bizarre, with its inverted face (eyes at the bottom, mouth at the top, no visible nose) and finlike boney ridge. As odd as everything else is about this character, it's a miracle he's able to wear conventional Jedi boots! It's an truly oddball-looking alien, so what's not to love? 9.5 out of 10.

Paint:
Pablo-Jill's head and hands are molded in a sandy yellow, with a medium brown paint wash applied to them to bring out sculpted details. A muddier brown is applied to his exposed gums, with a tan wash bringing out more detail on the mouth. His eyes are orang, with a Y-shaped black pupil. His fingernails have a gray paint app. His torso in molded in tan, with a sandy yellow/brown wash paint app to the neck area at the top of his tunic. His belt is dark brown, with silver accents. His arms and Jedi cloak are molded in dark brown, with a tan paint app at the end of his sleeves where his tunic sleeves poke out from the cloak. His pelvis and legs are molded in a very light grayish green, with his boots painted the same dark brown as his cloak. His lightsaber handle is silver with a tiny black and red accent; the blade is molded in translucent blue. Overall, seven colors are used to bring a nice level of detail to this figure: 9/10.

Articulation:
Pablo-Jill has a ball-jointed head, with standard planer-cut joints at the shoulders, elbows, wrists, and hips. I was a bit surprised by the figure's lack of waist articulation, and think that Hasbro really could have given him ball-jointed shoulders, too. The low level of articulation for this character doesn't ruin it, but we know that it really could have been a much nicer toy with just a bit more effort: 7/10.

Accessories:
Pablo-Jill comes with blue-bladed lightsaber, and the standard 2005 Transitional gunmetal gray base/figure stand. The packaging refers to his Jedi cloak as being "removable," but it's not like Sly Moore's cloak or Queen Amidala's: it's meant to be left on the figure, really. 8/10.

Packaging:
The same 2005 Transitional card as the rest of the series, with a character-specific background image--in this case, the Geonosis arena floor. The insert image is a nice digital close-up shot of the CGI-rendered character from the arena, and has the logo for EPISODE II - ATTACK OF THE CLONES on the far left flange, then the figure's name and 2005 collection number (Pablo-Jill is '05 #1) on the right flange. The cardback is a film image of Pablo-Jill, and has text that explains who the character is. 8/10.

Availability:
As of this writing, the figure has been appearing at retail for a little less than two months, and while it sells out often it has recently become more frequently available at retail; it is also available from most online sources: 8/10.

Conclusion:
Like many of the background Jedi from AOTC, Pablo-Jill was little more than on-screen scenery that moved, but STAR WARS is all about freaky-looking aliens, after all! To get a such a bizarre blink-and-you'll-miss-them background alien from the Prequel Trilogy, and in a placeholder toy line, is pretty darned cool. And, for those of you who don't already know, the character's name is derived from starwars.com online content and Episode III webcam master Pablo Hildago. 8.3/10.
