Sculpt:
Bib Fortuna, the repulsive Twi'lek male major domo to Tatooine crimelord Jabba the Hutt, as seen in RETURN OF THE JEDI. The facial likeness to actor Michael Carter is decent, and the sculpt gives him a rather ferocious sneer on his face. The attention to detail on this version of the figure is superior to that of the POTF2 version from 1996, this being Bib's first upgrade in the modern line. However, the pose is a bit too static, which has lead to some articulation issues. He earns an 8.5 out of 10.

Paint:
The head, lekku (tentacles), and neck are molded in pale in flesh, with pink and gray washes applied. The eyes are white, with red irises and black pupils, while the mouth and lips are an orange-pink, with white teeth. The arms and hands are molded in a deep blue, with metallic blue details at the wrist cuffs, and pale flesh with gray fingernails at the fingertips. The legs are molded in the black of his boots, with deep blue paint for the pants. The torso is molded in the brown of his outer robe, with deep blue, metallic blue, silver, and gunmetal gray paint details. The belt that holds his dagger is a strip of deep blue plastic, while the dagger itself is silver with a gold handle: 9/10.

Articulation:
Ball-jointed head, with planer-cut neck, biceps and wrists, and angle-cut elbows. Articulation has been considerably sacrificed for sculpting detail with this figure. I still think that shoulder and leg articulation could have been added with only minimal compromises to sculpting detail: 7/10.

Accessories:
Character-specific figure stand and small dagger. Who even knew Bib carried a knife? According to his databank profile, the dagger is actually poisoned! His POTF2 version came with a small hold-out blaster. Either way, he's certainly accessory-light here: 7/10.

Packaging:
The same The Saga Collection card as the rest of the series, with a character-specific background image--in this case, the interior of Jabba the Hutt's palace, featuring Jabba, Oola, and Salacious Crumb. The insert image is a nice close-up shot of Michael Carter in full costume and make-up, and has The Saga Collection logo to the right of the character image. The figure's name is just below TSC logo, with its collection number (Bib Fortuna is Saga #003) just to the right. The cardback features a small film image of Bibs face, and has text that explains the context of the scene in ROTJ, along with the diecut display area for the Exclusive Hologram Figure. Interestingly, the cardback photo of the figure shows his boots clearly exposed from under the hem of his robe, whereas the actual production figure's feet are hidden under the robe. 8.5/10.

Availability:
As of this writing, the figure has been appearing at retail for about four months. Along with Han Solo, Bib is the pegwarmer of this wave, and sells slowly at retail. It was also repacked with the Hoth wave, so it's readily available at retail; it is also available from most online sources: 9/10.

Conclusion:
While this Bib Fortuna looks better than the previous version from POTF2, the compromised articulation is a real drawback. He can basically be posed with arms straight or bent at the elbows, and that's all. For dioramists, that might be sufficient, but kids and collectors might have expected a bit more: 8.2/10.
