Sculpt:
Republic Commando Scorch, as seen in the video game STAR WARS: REPUBLIC COMMANDO. Although an Expanded Universe figure, the cardback discription places him on Geonosis with the other clone troopers at the time of ATTACK OF THE CLONES, just in off-screen action. Genetically, a clone commando is the same as a clone trooper. Commandos undergo a specialized training program that forces them to work as part of a small unit. While the standard clone trooper feels most at home within a huge phalanx of identical troopers, the commando excels within a tightly-knit group of four soldiers, trained together since hatching. The game focuses on Delta Squad, an elite group of four Republic commandos. It's comprised of "Boss" RC-1138, "Fixer" RC-1140, "Sev" RC-1207, and "Scorch" RC-1262. Scorch is the explosives expert, with a passion for practical jokes. His nickname refers to the time he got a little careless with some explosives and burned off his own eyebrows. It's an all-new sculpt of an all-new character, and rates a 9 out of 10.

Paint:
The figure's head, arms, and legs are molded in a medium gray, while the torso and pelvis are molded in white. The head has white and electric blue paint apps on the helmet, with rusty brown for the bloody handprints that Scorch has customized his armor with. The arms and legs have white and mustard-yellow paint apps with more rusty brown prints. The torso has gray, black, and rusty brown decos, while the pelvis has just the yellow and rusty brown. His DC-17M Stock Mount with Anti-Armor Attachment is molded in black, with silver detailing. The backpack is white, with gray, yellow, and black paint apps. The cannister rack is white with black and gray details. While the figure could have used some weathering, overall the paint scheme looks pretty close to matching the game character art: 9/10.

Articulation:
Ball-jointed neck, elbows, and waist. Hips, shoulders, and wrists are planer-cut joints. The minimal leg articulation is rather disappointing, as knee articulation seems to be a must for all Clones: 7/10.

Accessories:
Character-specific figure stand, DC-17M Stock Mount with Anti-Armor Attachment, removable backpack, and removable cannister rack on his right thigh. The DC-17M is a bit oversized, but the other accessories look pretty good: 8.5/10.

Packaging:
The same The Saga Collection card as the rest of the series, with a character-specific background image--in this case, a game environment background. The insert image is a promotional art, and has The Saga Collection logo to the right of the character image. The figure's name is just below TSC logo, with its collection number (Scorch: Republic Commando is Saga #021) just to the right. Just to the figure's left is the new series of five arrows, indicating the placement of the hologram figure. The cardback features another promotional image from REPUBLIC COMMANDO, and has text that explains the character, along with the diecut display area for the Exclusive Hologram Figure: 8.5/10.

Availability:
As of this writing, the figure has been appearing at retail for about a month, packed at one per case. It sells out almost instantly and is perhaps the most difficult figure to find in this wave; it is also available from most online sources: 3/10.

Conclusion:
Clone fanatics and army-builders have been begging for this figure ever since the REPUBLIC COMMANDO game was first released. It's a decent figure, and all those who wanted the entire Delta Squad can just buy three more and customize them ... or wait until Hasbro does them (and they most likely will!): 7.5/10.
